Suggestion from Jonathan

In an e-mail on July 25, 2016:

You suggest on this page that John the Baptist was the last prophet. There are many post-NT passages that mention prophets in the post-Christ NT church, but I would especially point out Acts 11:27–30. This passage (written around 62 AD, almost 30 years after John’s death) speaks of a prophet that, by the Spirit (just as in OT times) had a prophetic vision of the future of an upcoming drought, a vision which was accepted and acted upon by the apostles and elders of the church. Classic prophet! “And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cæsar, Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judæa”. John the Revelator also received prophetic visions of the future and acted as a spokesman between the church and direct first person words of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ/Yahweh (Book of Revelation). Some things to consider.
